Know what to do with fake tech support

A popup saying your device is infected may be a trick.

What to do

  1. Close the page or app if you see an unexpected warning.
  2. Do not call the number in the popup or install remote-control software it recommends.
  3. If concerned, use your device's built-in security tools or an official support channel.

A web page cannot diagnose your whole device just by showing a warning.
